Procurement Manager

Job Description

The Procurement Manager will work under the direction of the head of the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) Department.  The Procurement Manager’s responsibilities will include but not be limited to managing the procurement of Major System Components (MSC) in coordination with the engineering and construction teams.


  • Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure that the Company’s procurement needs are being met.
  • Identify new potential suppliers and manage the supplier qualification process with our in-house and third-party financial and technical teams.
  • Lead contract negotiations with suppliers to secure advantageous terms, with support from Verogy’s legal team.
  • Approve purchases for the construction and operations teams.
  • Manage current procurement policies and work to enhance or develop new policies that support key business objectives.
  • Build market intelligence that will direct pricing and product availability assumptions to the proposal generation team.
  • Track and report on purchasing data points to reduce project expenses.
  • Manage the RFQ (Request for Quote) process for MSC components.
  • React and adapt procurement strategies to ever-changing market conditions.
  • Support the construction and accounting teams with material delivery and billing related items.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree or relevant experience.
  • Solar procurement experience with at least 3 years managing vendor relationships.
  • Strong analytical and computer skills.
  • The ability to work in a rapidly evolving environment and develop creative solutions to problems.
  • The ability to plan, schedule, and coordinate procurement and construction efforts across multiple projects at a time.

PV Design Engineer

The PV Design Engineer will report to the head of the engineering department and be primarily responsible to produce all engineering needs of the Business Development team and the transition of projects from the development team to the execution team. Additionally, the design engineer will also have a significant role in establishing and maintaining the company’s internal PV system design standards and component selections. As Verogy is a small emerging company, many of its employees are tasked out with additional responsibilities that may be outside of the traditional scope of work for their designated job title. It is the intention that over time and internal capacity increases, Verogy will hire to solve for the additional responsibilities. As one of the first hires in the Engineering, Procurement & Construction department, the additional responsibilities of the PV design engineer would be to support the project manager with the execution of engineering and construction activities.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Create PV system layouts for business development team utilizing Aurora, Helioscope, AutoCAD and other specialized software platforms.
  • Produce system production estimates utilizing PVSyst and other like industry specific programs.
  • Develop preliminary system budgets to be reviewed by the execution team.
  • Attend client meetings with the business development professional to support the development effort and obtain necessary system design information.
  • Support the BD team in transitioning projects from development to execution.
  • Assist in the establishment of the company’s PV system design standards
  • Assist the procurement team with technical review and modeling of major system components.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Assist the project management team in any way that they may need support, which may include but is not limited to the following:
    • Engineering support
    • Project management support
    • On-site construction & engineering survey supervision

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Prior experience is a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of Design Codes & Standards, and other governing standards for design of solar PV systems.
  • Experience with PV System design tools such as Helioscope or Aurora is a plus.
  • Experience with PV System Energy Modeling tools, specifically PVSyst is a plus.
  • Excellent computer skills and familiarity with AUTOCAD.
  • The ability to work in a rapidly evolving environment and developing creative solutions to problems.
  • Ability to plan, schedule, coordinate and problem solve effectively.

Required Licenses or Experience

  • Professional Engineer License is not required but is a plus.
  • NABCEP Certification is not required but is a plus.
